Alberta RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating a homicide on O’Chiese First Nation which allegedly occurred on July 30.

RCMP say it was just before 11:30 a.m. that day when members from Rocky Mountain House received a firearms complaint from a home at O’Chiese.

Upon arrival, emergency responders located a male with serious injuries.

Despite life-saving efforts, the 27-year-old male from Sunchild First Nation was pronounced deceased.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit then took carriage of the investigation.

RCMP are requesting that anyone with dashcam footage on July 30, 2024, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the area of the O’Chiese Main Road on O’Chiese First Nation please contact the RCMP.
