The local real estate market remained steady in August, continuing a trend throughout 2024 which has seen a steady drumbeat of home sales in the West Country region.
That’s according to the latest Market Update from Central Alberta Realtors Association which shows 20 units sold last month in Rocky Mountain House, up from both the 18 units sold in July, and the the 12 units sold in July 2023.
Year-to-date numbers show 103 units sold in Rocky Mountain House so far in 2024, close to the 104 units sold during the first eight months of last year.
The average sale price in Rocky Mountain House last month was $299,670, down from $327,231 in July but up from $268,500 in August 2023.
Meantime, the average number of days to sell a home in Rocky Mountain House in August was 51, down from 80 days in July, and 58 days in August of last year.
In Clearwater County, there were 32 units sold last month, up by from 27 sold in July, and 22 units sold the same month in 2023.
Year-to-date numbers show 176 units sold in Clearwater County so far this year, similar to the 170 units sold to the end of August last year.
The average sale price in Clearwater County in August was $384,973, up slightly from $381,117 in July, and up from $352,636 in July 2023.
The average number of days to sell a home in Clearwater County last month was 58 days, down slightly from 65 days in July, and down from 77 days during the same month last year.
