Week four of the Peewee Jr. Rebels saw them taking on the Drumheller Terrapins. Looking to continue their climb up the standings in the Central Peewee Football League, the Rebels came out strong and determined.
The opening kickoff saw WR Gabriel Rogers take it to the house for a return touchdown, and with a successful 2-point convert by Rowan Fraser, the Rebels were quickly up 8-0.
The first quarter saw QB Grayson Nichol score on a long touchdown run, as well as RB Kyler Velichka scoring a nice rushing touchdown.
The second quarter saw RB Kyler Velichka score on a receiving TD.
The Rebels were up 28-0 after the first half.
The defense played amazing, limiting Drumheller’s yards and never allowing them close to the end zone in the first half.
The second half saw the Rebels extend their lead, with another Kyler Velichka receiving TD, a Rowan Fraser running TD, and capped off with another Grayson Nichol rushing TD.
The defense, not to be outdone by the offence, saw LB Bryson Fehr intercept a pass in the 4th quarter, and some huge tackles for losses by Reiss Desjarlais, Copper Cochran, Ayden Wandler, and Aurora Zeller.
The offensive line, consisting of Logan Stradecki, Kaysen Severson, Victor Stewart, Jaxon Coughlin, and Graeson Gomes did an outstanding job blocking, setting a strong offensive tone.
Backup QB Katarina Zeller closed out the game, ending with a dominant 49-0 Rebel’s win.
After Week four, the Rebel’s are 5th out of 10 teams in the standings. The Rebels are on a well deserved bye next week, with their next game in Olds, Oct. 5.

It’s been a tough few weeks for the Bantam Jr. Rebels.
Amidst injuries and a shortage of athletes, the bantam team shows up and leaves it all out on the field.
“The game was really more competitive than the scoreboard showed,” says co-head coach, Doug Laut.
“We’re looking forward to our bye week and getting our team healthy again,” co-head coach Jake Gorgichuk added. “They had five athletes with injuries this week, from a variety of positions. Where we really see the dedication though, is injured or not, these teammates show up to practice, show up on game day and that truly makes a difference.”
This past week, the Bantam athletes rounded together for some team bonding and attended the first league game of the season for the West Central Rebels.
Under the lights, they gathered as one with their Coaches Jake Gorgichuk and Mike Molnar as Coach Doug was on the sidelines with the High School team.
The team had an opportunity to witness and be part of the difference it makes to athletes when they have the support in the crowd that they are needing from their hometown.
The Bantams are preparing for a well-deserved bye this upcoming weekend, and are hopeful to take this time to heal, get healthy and come back stronger than ever when they return for game day on Oct. 5 in Innisfail.
We believe in you Bantams, keep up the hard work!
