A Buck Lake resident has seen a significant return on a $10 investment.

Kathy K, who won $250,000 on a $10 Crossword Supreme Scratch and Win ticket, says at first, she wasn’t entirely sure she had won.

“I was at home when I scratched the ticket and said out loud: ‘I think I won $250,000!’” she chuckled. “I went to the store to scan it the next day to make sure I was right! I was shaking and just so shocked. The cashier in the store was [happy] crying with me!”

Kathy says while slightly overwhelmed, she does have plans for her winnings.

“I’m going to use some of it for a trip to the Dominican Republic for my 49th wedding anniversary in February,” she said. “The rest will go in the bank!”

Kathy’s winning ticket was purchased from the Shell located at 5733 50 Ave. in Drayton Valley.
