Spooky season will be creeping in to every corner of the West County on Halloween — even local fire stations.
Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services (CRFRS) will once again be presenting ‘Truck or Treat’.
Little trick or treaters and their families are invited to keep their eyes peeled for CRFRS trucks and firefighters who will not only be handing out treats, but also special glow sticks.
In Rocky Mountain House, CRFRS Station 60 captain Ken Wedman says trucks will be spread out all across town. Trucks will be stationed at Lecerf, Liachuk, Creekside, near Pioneer School, and near the bottle depot.
In previous years, the trucks would drive around town on Halloween. However, due to safety considerations, Wedman says the trucks will remain in static locations for this year’s Truck or Treat.
Wedman adds, its also a great opportunity for kids to see the trucks up close.
In Caroline, festivities will be happening at the Caroline Community Hub.
In Leslieville, Truck or Treat will be happening at the Leslieville Community Hub.
Additionally, Wedman says firefighters will also be stationed at the Rocky fire hall handing out candy.
He reminds motorists to watch for pedestrians in town and obey all posted speed limits.
For kids, Wedman reminds them to not have their faces covered with masks while walking as it can restrict peripheral vision.
