Local French immersion homeschool students will participate in a Kids’ Christmas Market and Art Show on Dec. 11 at the Rocky Library.
Around a dozen students from L’Ècole des Cool Cats homeschool pod have created special art pieces they will display. Students will also be hosting a Christmas craft market with various handmade gifts for sale.
Parent volunteer Aura Pon says the event is a great way for students to show off what they have been working on because, as homeschoolers, there are not always many ways to showcase their talents to the public.
Many different kinds of art will be on display, says Pon, including painting, drawing, and sculpting.
Made up of Rocky-area homeschoolers, L’Ècole des Cool Cats was founded in the fall. The group meets twice a week to learn French from a certified instructor. Pon says the children also participate in fun collaborative activities such as cooking, creative writing, outdoor activities, and, of course, art.
The market runs Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
