The Rocky Mountain House Farmers Market is getting into the holiday spirit with its special Christmas market to wrap up the year on Dec 14.
Around 34 vendors are signed up already, says Market Manager Shannon Noirot.
“This year, we’re doing something a little different,” Noirot said. “This year we decided that we were going to run our final market of the calendar year as our special market and our Christmas market rather than trying to do multiple ones throughout the end of the year.”
Along with the usual mix of local goods and fresh produce, Noirot says there will be live music from a local band who will be playing Christmas tunes throughout the day.
Additionally, Noirot says visitors can enter to win a festive gift basket filled with goodies from every single vendor. If enough entries come in, she says there will even be two draws instead of one, with the basket valued at over $100.
And it’s not just about the shopping – Noirot says the atmosphere will be brimming with holiday cheer. In addition to snacks and drinks, there will be plenty of last-minute gift ideas, including some unique finds for the men in your life.
Noirot adds it’s the last market of the year. The next market is set to take place on Jan. 11, 2025.
Noirot noted, the move to the new location at the Rocky Legion, after relocating from the Rocky Museum basement museum in April, has been a big success. “It’s absolutely amazing. Everybody loves it. We can put all of our vendors in one room,” she said.
The market is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rocky Legion this Saturday, with free admission for all.
