Citing a chilly forecast, Rocky’s Community Events Committee has announced that previously scheduled outdoor Family Day activities have been moved indoors.
The skating disco party, which was scheduled to take place at the skating oval, will now be hosted inside the Rocky Arena to keep participants warm and dry.
While the snow painting and certain outdoor challenges will not take place, organizers say the Rec Centre will still be buzzing with excitement and family-friendly fun. Visitors can enjoy games in the Subway Room, while the foyer will be transformed into a cozy space for the Chili Cook-Off.
Organizer Tina Hutchinson says the public is invited to sample the chili, with the coveted golden ladle being handed out to first, second and third place finishers.
As a special treat, families can enjoy hot chocolate, cookies, and surprise visits from a few beloved Disney Princesses.
The event will run from Feb. 17 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Rocky Rec Centre (5303 50 St., Rocky Mountain House).
