Clearwater County is participating in the 2025 Cleanfarms Inc. Great Twine Round-Up and invites residents to recycle their plastic baler twine for a chance to win prizes.
Participants can help keep the community clean and make a positive impact while competing for a $3,000 cash prize for your 4-H club or agricultural non-profit group.
The contest is open to all Alberta 4-H clubs and districts, as well as all Alberta residents. Participants must be 18 or older (minors may enter with parental consent).
To get involved, residents can pick up a free Cleanfarms twine collection bag at participating collection sites in Clearwater County, including Central, Crossroads, Crammond, Caroline, Cow Lake, Everdell, and Leslieville.
Collect clean, used plastic baler twine by following these simple steps:
-
- Shake off as much debris, hay, mud, or ice as possible.
- Bag the twine securely in the Cleanfarms collection bag.
- Return your full bag(s) to any participating collection site
Identify your bags by writing your 4-H club name or district name (for group entries) or your name (for individual entries) on the bag(s) with a permanent marker. Then, take a photo with your bag(s) at the collection site and submit it online here.
Prizes include a $3,000 cash award for the winning 4-H club or district (one early-bird prize and two final prizes) and a $3,000 cash prize for an individual to donate to a not-for-profit agricultural organization.
Judging is based on photo clarity, and winners will be selected in random digital prize draws:
-
- Final prize draws for both 4-H clubs and individuals on June 18, 2025.
- Winners will be notified by email and phone by June 30, 2025, and a virtual prize event will be held in July.
The contest is open until May 31, 2025, and you can find full contest details here.
