Heavy snowfall is expected in the west side of Clearwater County this afternoon, including Nordegg.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), a snowfall warning has been issued for mountainous regions stretching from Nordegg to near the Banff-Canmore areas.

Officials say total snowfall amounts near 10 cm are likely by this afternoon, with the snow event expected to end by this evening.

ECCC warns rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may also be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Motorists are asked to be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
