Much of west central Alberta is under a snowfall warning as the area is expected to receive a winter wallop.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), that includes the Clearwater County region— with the entire area under the warning.
ECCC say widespread snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm are expected by Friday evening, while some areas may receive as much as 30 cm by Friday morning.
Snow will be heavy at times, ECCC says, and is expected to continue through the evening. Periods of lighter snow will continue through Friday.
The snowfall warning stretches from Banff in the south to the Fox Creek area in the north. Meanwhile, Red Deer and Innisfail is expected to be spared the brunt of the heavy snowfall.
