Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) will be hosting an Open House in Rocky Mountain House on May 9, 2025, as part of its ongoing partnership with Campus Alberta Central (CAC).
Organizers say it’ll be an opportunity to explore many different courses and careers, as well as how you can advance your career close to home.
During the event, special focus will be given to the Practical Nurse Diploma and Health Care Aide Certificate programs, with information sessions available throughout the day.
Sarah Fotty, interim co-executive director at the Rocky Learning Centre says you can explore the hands-on health care lab on site at the campus.
“It’s set up much like an emergency room,” she explains. “We have beds, tools and technology that participants can utilize there— such as an IV.”
Fotty adds, it’s not just health care, as presentations will be made from people in the trades, where participants can learn what careers such as automotive mechanic entails.
Site leaders from CAC, RDP recruiters, and professionals from key RDP programs will be on hand to discuss career paths, funding options, and professional development.
Fotty notes, you might be surprised to learn what opportunities are offered in Rocky and how easy it is to keep education close to home.
“We did have around 36 different courses you can do online,” says Fotty, adding that other services are offered in Rocky such as online exam proctoring.
The event will be held at Confluence Campus in Rocky Mountain House High School from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Click here for more information.
