A spring snowstorm swept through Alberta on Monday, April 21, dumping significant snowfall across several regions, with Nordegg receiving a hefty 20 centimetres of snow.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), some of the heaviest snowfall was seen in the West Country, bringing winter-like conditions to areas that typically expect milder weather during this time of year.
In addition to Nordegg, heavy snowfalls were reported in Edson and Hendrickson Creek which saw 18 centimetres of snow, while Pekisko in southwestern Alberta received 10 centimetres.
Further reports from third-party sources indicated that the Sundre area saw 6 centimetres of snow.
The snow-blast is expected to be short-lived, however, as the latest ECCC forecast calls for sunshine and warmer temperatures for the rest of the week.
