The Rocky Learning Centre is once again offering its monthly New Futures program from May 12 to 15, providing a free opportunity for individuals to boost their job readiness in today’s competitive job market.
Following a successful session in April, the upcoming return of New Futures offers participants another chance to refresh resumés, sharpen interview techniques, and develop key life and career skills — all at no cost.
Sarah Fotty, interim co-executive director of the Rocky Learning Centre says people who have taken it before are welcome to come back. “This program touches on so many different topics, sometimes you want to come back and revisit it”.
Fotty add its more than just a resumé workshop, New Futures delves into topics like change management, cover letter writing, and coping with the emotional stress that often accompanies unemployment.
The programs runs every month throughout the year, she says, expect during the summer, as it will be taking a break in July and August.
As always, participants who complete the workshop may also qualify for funded safety certifications such as First Aid, H2S, or Elevated Work Platform.
The program is completely free, with no strict registration deadline. Those interested are encouraged to walk in at 9:00 a.m. on May 12 at the Rocky Learning Centre to join.
