Community members are invited to do some shredding and enjoy a burger for a good cause during Rocky Credit Union’s upcoming Shredding Day.
The annual event returns Thursday, June 19, in the credit union’s parking lot, with professional shredding of confidential documents offered by cash donation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A charity barbecue will run alongside the shredding event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering burgers, chips and a drink for $7. All proceeds will support the Compassionate Care Hospice Society (CCHS).
Melissa Drake, marketing coordinator for CCHS, said funds raised will help the organization continue to provide professional, end-of-life care to residents of Clearwater County.
“Our hospice suite is available free of charge to residents and their families, along with bereavement services,” Drake said.
The barbecue is one of several fundraisers held throughout the year in support of the hospice. In 2024, the society’s Walk for Hospice brought in just over $9,200. Drake said this year’s goal is $12,000.
