BANTAMS

In a gritty, hard-fought battle that came down to the wire, the Rocky Jr Rebels fell just short in a 9–8 loss to the Olds Bulldogs on Saturday morning.
The Rebels, trailing by one with under a minute left on the clock, drove deep into Bulldogs territory and set up for a potential game-winning field goal. But the kick sailed wide, allowing Olds to escape with a narrow victory.
“We fought hard all game,” said Rebels head coach Curtis. “That’s a tough way to lose, but I’m proud of the heart our guys showed.”
The game was a defensive slugfest from the start, with both teams trading field position and turnovers. The Rebels notched the first touchdown of the game midway through the second quarter, while the Bulldogs replied with a touchdown in the second half.
Despite the outcome, the Rebels showed resilience and poise under pressure — traits they’ll look to build on heading into next week’s matchup vs Carstairs.

For the third game in a row, the kids came out focused and did exactly what was needed to secure the win — earning us a solid spot in third place!
It was a full team effort, with everyone contributing on the field. A special shout-out to our rookies and first-year players who made the most of their extra playing time and really stepped up.
We’ll be putting in the work this week as we prepare for a must-win matchup — our final game of the regular season before the balancing round!

Rocky Junior Rebels Atom Team Battles Through the Cold in Red Deer Doubleheader!
The Rocky Junior Rebels Atom squad brought the heat to Red Deer this weekend, taking on the Stettler Bobcats and the Lacombe Chargers in back-to-back gridiron showdowns. Despite the season’s first taste of chilly weather, the Rebels showed no signs of slowing down!
In Game 1 against the Bobcats, the Rebels came out swinging, with #24 Deacon Bosworth electrifying the field by snagging a touchdown that had fans on their feet. Game 2 saw Deacon do it again—another touchdown against the Lacombe Chargers, proving he’s a force to be reckoned with! But it wasn’t just the offense making waves. The Rebels’ defense stood tall, holding off both opponents with grit and determination.
A few bumps and bruises were earned along the way, but the team’s resilience shone through, keeping spirits high and tackles fierce. This weekend wasn’t just about football—it was a celebration of community!
A massive thank-you goes out to our incredible coaches, whose guidance and passion shape these young athletes into champions. And to the volunteers who brave the early mornings, cold sidelines, and endless organizing: you’re the heartbeat of this team. Your dedication makes greatness possible. As the temperature drops, the Rebels are just heating up. With teamwork, heart, and a whole lot of hustle, this Atom team is ready for whatever the season throws their way. Go Rebels!
