Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services (CRFRS) is actively recruiting new paid on-call firefighters, with applications open until Oct. 17.
The department is seeking individuals who are at least 18-years-old, live in Clearwater County, have a valid driver’s licence, and are available to attend training on evenings and weekends.
“We are looking for people who want to serve their communities,” said new fire chief Kristofer Heemeryck. “No previous training or experience is required — we provide all the training.”
Recruits will start at $18.34 per hour and will undergo an interview process, fitness evaluation and medical screening. Training is nationally recognized and fully provided by CRFRS.
Heemeryck said there is no cap on the number of recruits and the department hopes to see strong interest from across the region.
“This is a rewarding position that directly impacts the communities in which we live,” he said. “You’ll gain friendships and bonds through close-knit teamwork, and a real sense of pride in being there for others.”
CRFRS is hiring for all stations (Leslieville, Condor, Caroline, Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg) in Clearwater County.
