The West Country is invited to kick off the holiday season with a special Christmas at the Collieries event in Nordegg.

The free event will include mine tours by horse-drawn wagon, music, bonfire, hot chocolate, coffee, treats and walk-through Christmas lights.

Whitney Wedman, heritage and cultural programs coordinator with Clearwater County says the community will be transformed into a winter wonderland, as all of the old buildings in the upper loop of the mine site will be lit up with Christmas lights.

The celebration is Saturday Nov. 8 from 6-9 p.m.
