Alberta’s Environmental Appeals Board will hold a virtual hearing Feb. 23, 2026, to review a provincial decision allowing Premier Horticulture Ltd. to temporarily disturb wetlands for a peat-harvesting operation in Clearwater County.
The approval, issued April 4, 2025, authorizes work on sites near SW 01-037-07-W5M, northwest of Caroline.
The board, an independent body that reviews decisions made by Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, will hear arguments on whether the authorization should stand.
Members of the public who want to make submissions must apply by Dec. 15, 2025. Any person who wishes to make a representation before the board on this appeal must submit a request by fax or by e-mail.
Requests must include contact information, any legal representation, and a summary of how the applicant is affected. The board will decide after that date whether additional representations will be accepted.
The board can be contacted by phone at 780-427-6207, or e-mail at eab@gov.ab.ca.
Information submitted becomes part of the public record.
