A B.C. man has been charged in connection to a motor vehicle collision that took place in central Alberta, in April 2025.
RCMP reported on the crash shortly after it occurred.
They said at the time that on April 28, 2025, at about 2:13 p.m., Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 11 at Range Road 35, west of Sylvan Lake.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located two people deceased in one vehicle — a 29-year-old female and a 58-year-old female, both from Rocky Mountain House.
Two other people in a pickup truck were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Now, 60-year-old Richard Waybe Opsahl of Creston, British Columbia, has been charged with two counts of Dangerous Driving Causing Death.
Opsahl is slated to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on April 27.
