Residents of Eckville and the surrounding area are invited to the community’s second annual Community Block Party on Aug. 20.

Organizers have planned an evening of family-friendly activities, including carnival games, face painting, bouncy castles and a clown.

Central Alberta musician Alecia Aichelle will perform for a second consecutive year, while local youth will also take the stage during a talent show.

Visitors are encouraged to come hungry, with several food trucks set up throughout the event. A community vendor market and town information fair will also be open.

Eckville Recreation Board member Lindsay Holmen said organizers have built on the success of the inaugural event in 2025 by expanding the vendor market and adding more food trucks.

“Our small town thrives when people come together for events like the block party,” said Holmen. “It creates memories, strengthens community connections, supports local businesses and showcases everything that’s great about Eckville.”

Holmen added that everyone from Eckville and surrounding communities is welcome to attend.

The Community Block Party will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

The inaugural block party was held Aug. 21, 2025.
