Registration is open now for any local youth who would like to play for the Rocky Jr. Rebels football team for the 2026 season.
While bantam and atom levels filled up quickly, the call is out for peewee level players ages 10-12 to sign up.
Any girl or boy in Rocky is welcome to be part of the team, says Rebels trainer Serina Taylor, who adds there are no tryouts at any of the three levels.
Taylor says kids see many benefits from being on the team. In her experience, players have built character and confidence, as well as social and teamwork skills.

New season follows banner year in 2025
While the peewees are still looking to fill their roster, the memory remains fresh of a highly successful season last year which saw the team capture the league championship and compete in provincials.
“It was absolutely tremendous to see the athletes win game after game last season,” said Taylor.
The coaching staff from the 2025 Rocky Jr. Rebels Peewee football team also received the 2025 Athletic and Sports Excellence Award at the Denim and Diamonds gala in March.
The first 2026 regular season game for the squad will be Sept. 5 in Drumheller while the first home game will be on Football Day in Rocky Saturday Sept. 19.
