In what’s being described as the biggest tournament it’s ever hosted, Pine Hills Golf Club will be the setting for the 2026 Canadian Women’s Senior Championship.
The Golf Canada-sanctioned tournament runs Sept. 15-18 and is open to female amateur golfers who have reached their 50th birthday by the first scheduled day of the championship and whose handicap index is 16.4 or less.
A separate super senior competition is open to female amateur golfers who have reached their 60th birthday by the first scheduled day of the championship.
“Usually these types of tournaments are hosted in big metropolitan areas like Toronto or Vancouver, so it’s pretty cool they’ve chosen a smaller course,” says Pine Hills golf pro Graham Gagne, who adds top golf talent from across Canada will be in town to compete.
Large cities are hosting other 2026 Golf Canada events, including Winnipeg hosting the senior men’s championship and Brampton hosting the Junior Girls finals.
Though golfers will be arriving from far and wide, two Rocky Mountain House golfers — Carol Turner and Frankie Nobert — will also be hitting the links.
Returning this year is three-time champion Shelly Stouffer of Nanoose Bay, B.C., who won the 2025 event in Nanaimo.

Gagne said it’s the biggest golf event ever hosted at Pine Hills, which has also welcomed other notable, albeit smaller, events, including the 2024 Alberta Women’s Senior Championship and the 2022 Western Canada NextGen tournament.

Spectators are welcome to watch the action, although the public is reminded to follow golf etiquette, including respecting players and remaining quiet before strokes.
