It’s set to be two days of Amazing Art, Magical Music at the Rocky Museum as it hosts Alberta Culture Days celebrations for the first time.
The two-day event is set for Sept. 25 and 26 and will feature local and regional artists, along with live performances and workshops.
The Amazing Art component will feature a paint night Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., followed by an art show and artisan market Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For Magical Music, an array of acts are set to hit the stage Saturday:
- Fiddle player Rik Cormier at noon
- The Abraham Lake Singers at 1:15 and 2:15 p.m.
- Allen Christie at 7 p.m.
It marks the first time Alberta Culture Days celebrations have been held in Rocky.
In 2025, 111 organizations in 48 communities received grants from the Alberta government to put on Alberta Culture Days events. The grants were worth $380,000 in total.
Among the highlights last year was free admission to 20 provincially owned museums, historic sites and archives.
Sundre also observed Alberta Culture Days through the Sundre and District Historical Society.
