The Rocky Wildcards have announced the launch of their new adult co-ed volleyball league, beginning in early October.

Volleyball action will be tailored to those looking for some serious competition or simply a way to stay active and enjoy a fun night out with friends.

Teams must play with a 4-2 split, meaning they must have at least two players of each gender on the court at all times.

Two weeknight events will offer different levels of volleyball:

• Monday nights are a recreation league for players looking to stay active, have fun, meet new people and enjoy volleyball in a relaxed atmosphere.
• Tuesday nights are the competitive league, designed for experienced players seeking a faster-paced game and a more competitive level of play.

Historically, the Rocky Wildcards have been a volleyball league for women and girls ages 12-18, says president Les Winchester. However, when the former operator of the co-ed league moved out of town, he says the Wildcards took up the mantle.

Games will take place in the gym at Pioneer Middle School.

Registration is open now, with the fee set at $350 per team. Winchester says the hope is to have a complement of 12 teams

New this season, each participant will have access to a league management system that allows players to track schedules, scores and standings.
