Fashionistas, get ready to shine.
The Rocky Mountain House Medical Equipment Lending Society is set to host its second fundraising fashion show on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Local businesses, including The Angel Tree, Henry’s Western Wear, The Crafted Keep, Cherub’s and Walk-In Closet, will provide both the fashions and the runway models.
Models will showcase clothing and accessories in a variety of categories, including jeans and hoodies, formal wear, men’s wear, hats and boots, and even a children’s category.
The evening will also feature some tasty hors d’oeuvres, with Copper Creek Cafe providing a charcuterie board.
“We tried our first fashion show last year and it was a huge success — everyone had a wonderful time,” says Rhonda Reynaud, M.E.L. Society fundraising committee chair. “We hope to repeat it this year.”
While a full complement of models has already signed up for the event, Reynaud says organizers are looking for volunteers to help with set-up and tear-down. Anyone interested can call 403-844-7651.

The M.E.L. Society is a not-for-profit organization in Rocky Mountain House that rents medical equipment to people in need at a low cost.
Available equipment includes wheelchairs, beds and walkers, as well as other items that help improve mobility and independence for people in central Alberta.
Tickets are $45 each and can be purchased at participating businesses or at the M.E.L. Society office on 44th Street in Rocky Mountain House.
The event goes Saturday Nov. 7 at the Lou Soppit Community Centre with doors opening at 7 p.m.
