A David Thompson High School (DTHS) graduate has received the 2024 Keyera Career Pathways award.
Braxton Lee was chosen as a recipient of the award, which goes to support students pursuing careers associated with the oil and gas industry.
Braxton is enrolled in the first year of a Mechanical Engineering Technology program at SAIT.
First awarded in 2003, the program’s goal is to financially assist students with their post-secondary education by providing financial support to cover the costs of tuition and other administration costs, as well as both summer and full-time employment with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
In an e-mail from Principal Miles Trieber, the school says Braxton enjoyed a very successful high school career. His academic achievements include qualifying for the Rutherford Scholarship in grades 10 and 12. Athletic achievements include success with David Thompson Voyageurs basketball and volleyball, as well as U18 Sylvan Lake Lakers hockey team.
Lee joins six other David Thompson grads who have participated in the Keyera Career Pathways program.
