Town officials say Rocco the Rocky Mountain Rock Snake will return to the trail near Strawberry Hill on Wednesday, Aug. 5, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

To make the process faster and easier, community volunteers are invited to help reassemble the 100-metre-long rock serpent.

Rocco first appeared along the trail in 2024, accompanied by a sign that read: “Rocky Mountain Snake. Add a rock to see how far I travel, but please don’t take away.”

The rock snake was packed up in October 2025 after town staff said it could not remain in place over the winter because of snow-clearing operations and other seasonal maintenance in the area.
